MTA Celebrated Earth Day 2009
On Wednesday, April 22
The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) hosted a free community-wide event to celebrate Earth Day 2009 on Wednesday, April 22 from 10AM -7 PM at the Shot Tower/Market Place Metro Station (directly adjacent to Port Discovery Children's Museum - 25 Market Place). This year's Earth Day celebration sponsored by The B Newspaper, represented a partnership between the MTA, civic groups, student organizations, commercial businesses, non-profits and public agencies all coming together to demonstrate their commitment and leadership in keeping our communities clean and green!
Hundreds of people came to participate in and enjoy the Earth Day celebration as the MTA and its green-minded partners showcased some modern public transit innovations and other Earth-friendly products and services that support a healthy environment. There has never been a greater environmental need than now to promote and use public transportation so come and learn the role we each have to play in improving our earth.
